As the political landscape continually evolves, so do the laws regulating our industry. FFA's Government Relations Committee meets throughout the year to discuss and prioritize issues of importance to forestry in Florida. Once approved, FFA shares these issues and priorities with locally elected legislators and members of Congress.
At the state level, the Florida Forestry Association monitors bills of interest to the membership which are being considered by the Florida legislature. This includes environmental, forestry, land-use, taxation and other regulatory issues that affect your timberlands or your business. Up-to-the-minute information and the full text of all bills are available at http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Welcome/index.cfm
On federal issues, the Florida Forestry Association partners with the American Forest & Paper Association to provide you information about candidates and issues on Capitol Hill as they relate to forestry. Issues that important to forestry at the national level are available at Grow the Vote.
