The Florida Forest Discovery Center is an 8000-square-foot forestry display at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. During the Florida State Fair each February, the center invites visitors to discover the value of Florida's forests through informative, interactive displays. One feature of the center is the Goods From the Woods exhibit, which highlights some of the 5,000 products we use every day that are made from wood and wood by-products.
The Florida Forestry Association partners with the Florida Division of Forestry, the US Forest Service, the Florida Division of the Society of American Foresters and the University of Florida School of Forest Resources and Conservation each year to create this exhibit.
At the 2011 State Fair, over 43,000 people toured the Florida Forest Discovery Center, and each walked away with a new understanding of forestry in Florida. Since the Center opened in 2004 over 300,000 visitors have been enlightened about Florida's amazing forests!
