WHAT WE DO:
Log a Load for Kids

Log A Load for Kids (LAL) is a nationwide giving campaign through which loggers and others in the forest industry contribute to local Children's Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals and organize CMN fundraising events. One hundred percent of all contributions go directly to local hospitals; overhead expenses are contributed separately by the Florida Forestry Association, the Children's Miracle Network, and corporate and private underwriting. There are currently Log A Load campaigns in 30 states, making LAL a major CMN donor.

The Art of Giving - Log A Load Touching Lives

Nothing could have prepared Sherry and me for the health news we received
just a few days before Christmas last year. Being told your child has cancer
leaves a lump in your throat you can’t describe.

It was December 20th. Just 48 hours earlier our nine-year old daughter, Anna
Grace, had been sent to Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville with low
blood counts and pneumonia like symptoms. The clinical tests began
immediately as an oncologist and hematologist team prepared us for what
could be leukemia.

When the diagnoses came it literally took our breath away. Just weeks before
Anna Grace had been a typical little girl spinning and flipping in gymnastics.
But, a pulled hamstring muscle never healed. A cold virus never went away.
Now we knew why.  Continued here ...

2008 - Thanks to the generosity and hard work of Florida’s loggers, industry and related forest business and individuals, checks totaling over $105,000 were mailed out this month to three Florida Children’s Hospitals. Sacred Heart received a check for $52,320, followed by Shands for $38,372 and Shands Jacksonville / Wolfson Hospital and Pediatrics at $14.658. Florida's forestry community has raised $1.5 million for Florida Children's Hospitals since 1995.

Log a Load gifts room at Sacred Heart

Pediatric patients in Northwest Florida have a new place to receive medical care. A Pediatric Oncology Room has been donated by Log A Load for Kids to enhance the treatment of children with cancer. The Pensacola LAL team, led by Bob Moore, continues to celebrate the financial gifts of area forestry and associated businesses and individuals by working with Sacred Heart to make healthcare affordable and available to all. Hospital President Henry Roberts praised the LAL Committee as a truly amazing group that helps make good things happen in the lives of the children at Sacred Heart.
